Switzerland based leading textile machinery manufacturer SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler AG has announced the successful relocation of SSM Zhongshan to the newly created Sino-Swiss (European) Industrial Park (SSIP) in Cuiheng New District, Zhongshan.
The movement of the factory went smoothly and without any interruption, according to the company. Small opening ceremony was held on the 18 April 2016.
SSM Zhongshan
SSM (Zhongshan), which manufactures and assembles winding machines for the Asian market, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SSM AG. The foundation of SSM (Zhongshan) underlines the strategic importance of the Chinese market, as well as enabled shorter delivery times for the Asian market.
Besides the manufacturing and assembly operations, SSM (Zhongshan) also functions as a logistics base for spare parts. This includes an electronics repair centre with highly skilled personnel and state-of-the-art equipment; capable of handling all electronic circuit boards and components used in SSM machines.
Service experience
Helping to achieve SSM’s mission to offer its customers an exceptional service experience, SSM (Zhongshan) is equipped with a product showroom that figures as a technology centre for product demonstrations, customer-specific trials and product development.
Zhongshan is located in the Chinese high-tech region Pearl River Delta and is within easy reach from Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
SSM AG
The Schärer, Schweiter and Mettler companies merged in 1989 to become SSM. In 1999, Stähle-Eltex and SSM merged to develop air texturing technology and to strengthen their leadership position in the marketplace.
With HACOBA as its partner, SSM is also able to offer a complete range of sewing thread finishing machines. The company can also offer a complete portfolio for processed yarns.
In 2012, SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler has taken over the activities of Giudici, Italy. Giudici’s strong market position in the field of false twist texturing of high quality fine count Nylon yarns, an application that complements SSM’s established leadership in air texturing, will further expand SSM’s business in the chemical fibre processing industry, the company believes.
