At the Premiere Vision exhibition, Roica is launching the new Roica Feel Good family of premium stretch that promises a new level of wellbeing performance. The Roica CF yarn is said to deliver an odour-neutralising function that does not wash or wear out. Its active ingredient is locked in and only needs a modest percentage to work in any fabric matrix.

Key partner, Maglificio Ripa, has created a new range using it, and the Wolford brand has developed its own line of hosiery and lingerie for the AW 18-19 season, which follow the recent commercial successes at Interfiliere in July, also thanks to the Roica Eco Smart family of yarns, inspiring new lingerie collections by Wolford, Cosabella, Triumph and Aubade.

At the fair, visitors will be able to see the latest textile innovations from mill partners at the Roica Fabric Gallery, with their rich and varied fabric offer that focuses on using the newly enlarged Roica Eco Smart family of sustainably designed stretch yarns, either GRS or C2C Gold Level material health certificated with Hohenstein Environment Certification.

Certification

Asahi Kasei and the Roica Eco Smart family of responsible stretch innovation have received Cradle-to-Cradle Innovation Institute’s Gold Level material health certificate. This yarn is also a Hohenstein Environment Compatibility Certificated yarn already, signifying at its end-of-life, it smartly breaks down without releasing harmful materials.

The Cradle-to-Cradle Innovation Institute’s Gold Level material health certificate is awarded for product ingredients that have been evaluated throughout the supply chain for impacts on human and environmental health, building towards eliminating all toxic and unidentified chemicals for a safe continuous cycle.

“This new C2C certification is an important evolution of Roica’s sustainably designed stretch yarn programme, offering a dynamic and enlarged portfolio to add to the current GRS (Global recycling standard version 3) by Textile Exchange Roica offer,” the company reports.

“The Roica Eco Smart family is now a clear leader in premium eco-sustainable stretch yarns with proven credentials for market savvy choices that meet contemporary business needs and consumer desires for all the garments in their modern wardrobe, for fashion, athleisure, sportswear, intimates and swimwear.”

Contemporary fashion applications

Iluna Group produces all its Iluna Green Label lace collections made with the Roica Eco Smart family. Iluna has converted all its stretch yarn exclusively to the Roica Eco Smart family so that now the whole collection has become an industry leader in the production of eco-lace.

Maglificio Ripa, along with its new Roica CF range, is showing a range of recycled-polyamide fabrics blended with the Roica Eco Smart stretch family for a fully smart product.

Marini Industrie, a producer of the Stretch Linen Concept answering to the growing need of stretch and comfort solutions in linen formalwear, selected a GOTS certified linen, the exclusive Roica Eco Smart family of certified premium stretch solutions and a viscose made from cotton scraps to make the Stretch Linen Cotton even smarter.

Fukui Tateami, a leading hi-tech knitted fabric producer for outerwear, has partnered Asahi Kasei for the European and USA markets, now offering responsible solutions using the Roica Eco-Smart family of premium stretch.

Finally, using Roica Eco-Smart family, V&A Japan Corporation has developed a new textile for the light-middle weight woven fabric for the outerwear market.

Smart Creation

And with the key sustainable values of Roica, Première Vision has selected it to be a Smart Ambassador within the project Smart Creation. Smart Creation is a way of bringing together and communicating the initiatives and the means towards responsible creation, innovation and production.

Key developments in Roica Eco Smart will be displayed in the Smart Library, located on the Smart Square. The first Cradle2Cradle certified lingerie set and tights by Wolford, made with Roica Eco Smart family, have also been selected as responsibly developed item for the Smart Wardrobe.
