Andritz will present its latest technology solutions for nonwovens and technical textiles at Techtextil Russia 2021 in Moscow, Russia, from September 14-16, 2021.

The company’s processing macines include air-through bonding, needlepunch, spunlace, spunbond, wetlaid/Wetlace, converting, textile finishing, airlaying, recycling and natural fibre processing.

Andritz recently acquired Laroche, a leading supplier of fibre processing technologies such as opening, blending, and dosing, airlay web forming, textile waste recycling and bast fibre decortication. One focus of this product range is on complete recycling lines for post-consumer and industrial textile waste to produce fibres for re-spinning. The recycled fibres can also be used in the nonwovens industry for various applications such as automotive, insulation, mattresses and furniture felts.

Needlepunch

Among the largest end-use markets for nonwoven products are materials for durable uses. Interior linings for cars, materials for construction, geotextiles, synthetic leathers for clothing and furniture, carpeting, filtration and many other industries rely on the use of nonwovens produced using the needlepunch method.

For needlepunch materials, the ProWin web control system optimises web distribution, uniformity, profile and structure via a combination of two weight profiling control technologies, ProDyn and ProWid.

Bio-Wipes

Andritz Nonwoven has also played a pioneering role in the production of biodegradable materials. The company offers various processes for the elimination and reduction of plastic components while maintaining the high quality of the desired wipe properties,  – spunlace, Wetlace and Wetlace CP. Using blends of fibres like wood pulp, short-cut cellulosic fibres, viscose, cotton, hemp, bamboo or linen without chemical additives results in a 100% sustainable fabrics.

The latest development in this field is the neXline wetlace CP line. This process combines the benefits of two forming technologies – inline drylaid and wetlaid web forming – with bonding by hydroentanglement. Natural fibres such as pulp or viscose can be processed smoothly and generate a high-performance and cost-efficient wipe that is fully biodegradable and plastic-free.

Calendering

The Andritz teXcal Raconip TT sets new standards in textile processing for technical textiles, such as sportswear, workwear, canvas and parachute fabric, both in terms of technological maturity and design. It is aimed at customers who require versatility and operator-friendly handling along with process stability and high manufacturing quality.

The calender features the newly developed Raconip TT, a deflection-controlled roll for maximum flexibility due to unrestricted profiling across the entire fabric width by means of hydrostatic pistons. This guarantees absolute flatness and precise air permeability.
