Itema will showcase its GalileoRX rapier and P7300HP V8 projectile weaving machines at the forthcoming ITMA Asia + CITME exhibition taking place from October 14-18 in Shanghai.

Launched in 2022 to address the specific needs of the Chinese and Asian textile markets, the Itema GalileoRX has rapidly gained recognition for its ability to weave a wide range of fabrics with superior quality and precision.

The 2.3-metre-wide machine on show at stand C11 in Hall 3 at the exhibition will weave an apparel style and be equipped with a new generation machine console with a 15.6-inch capacitive touch screen and the iSAVER fancy device for eliminating waste selvedge.

A 3.9-metre-wide P7300HP V8 will demonstrate its ability to handle heavy weight fabrics by producing denim at the show. Itema is now the sole manufacturer of projectile weaving machines and continues to push the boundaries of the weft insertion technology.

This year also marks a milestone for projectile weaving technology as the company celebrates the 70th anniversary of the official unveiling of the TW11 – the first projectile weaving machine demonstrated at the Mustermesse in Basel, Switzerland, in 1954. The TW11 revolutionised the weaving industry with its unique weft insertion system and ability to efficiently produce extra-wide and heavy fabrics, laying the groundwork for subsequent generations of projectile looms leading to today’s P7300HP V8.

Additional Itema rapier weaving machines will be showcased in Shanghai by partners including Huzhou Hyundai (Hall 3, stand C08), Lilai (Hall 3, stand A38), Tongxiang (Hall 3, stand E07), Changfang (Hall 3, stand B35) and Song&Song (Hall 3 stand A67).
