Functional performance benefits are combined with sustainable features in new Lycra Dual Comfort yarns, to provide comfortable stretch and cooling comfort with long-lasting shape retention in garments.

Key to the new yarn is Lycra T400 A EcoMade fibre, created from both recycled and renewable raw materials in a proprietary process to deliver the texture and appearance of a spun yarn, allowing the creation of low-impact, comfortable and versatile garments with thermal comfort.

The new yarn is viewed as ideal for the emerging ‘new utility’ trend blending rugged performance with tailored elegance to cater to the needs of cross-segment apparel categories.

“Now that we’ve experienced all-day comfort, we expect versatile clothes made from sustainable fabrics that provide the freedom to embrace a casual, comfortable lifestyle,” said Ebru Ozaydin, strategic marketing director at The Lycra Company. “The term ‘new utility’ have become buzzwords for defining lightweight apparel, combining everyday practicality and urban elegance using low-impact materials.”

Additionally, HeiQ has announced that The Lycra Company will be the exclusive distributor for the new AeoniQ fibre – a cellulosic filament yarn made from sustainably-sourced cellulosic materials that has the potential to have a net positive climate effect.
