The event has been designed to revolve around three crucial themes: water, energy and bio-based. Technical Absorbents will be in hall that is closest to the water pavilion and will be promoting its range of SAF, nonwoven and woven fabrics, yarns and tapes, which allow users to achieve optimum nurturing and growth conditions whilst effectively reducing overall water usage.

New possibilities

“SAF creates new possibilities for the development of fabrics that can be used as both temporary and long-term plant root watering systems, even in areas of low water availability”, explained Product Development Director Dr Mark Paterson. “Such fabrics are designed to achieve highly controlled delivery of water and nutrients to roots, whilst significantly reducing evaporative loss and water seepage”.

“We have developed a portfolio of products for this market. From liner fabrics to durable fabrics that can be buried below the grounds surface, our super absorbent technology offers a solution for those looking to reduce water usage or have a need to ensure plants don’t dehydrate during transportation.”

“Wherever there is a requirement to manage water and nutrient delivery in a controlled and environmentally safe way, we can help devise a solution. At Greentech we will have a team of development specialist’s on-hand to introduce visitors to our technology and meet about specific projects if required.”

Technical Absorbents

Technical Absorbents (TAL) is a subsidiary company of China National BlueStar (Group) Company Limited, who is in turn wholly-owned by ChemChina, a Fortune 500 company.

Since inception in 1993, the company’s core business has been the manufacture of Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF) at its UK production site. The company has also developed a wide range of SAF based nonwoven fabrics and yarns, which it can supply directly, leveraging the cost benefits of its vertical integration.

As a result, the company holds a leading position as an absorbent solutions provider, with its wide range of super absorbent technologies that are suitable for a variety of applications in a number of new and established markets.
