Recovo is a new online platform aimed at teaming up brands with designers to buy and sell leftover textiles and create the connections to reduce textile waste and extend the life of materials globally.

The platform features a wide range of dead stock fabrics based on natural, recycled or synthetic fibres in different compositions, weights, prints and colours. Brands such as Angel Schlesser, Atelier Manola, Hemper, Intexteis, La Bandera,  Pronovias and Pyratex are already signed up to it, with the aim of further accelerating the transition to a more circular industry.

So far 70% of sales for the Spanish business have been within the EU, but having closed its first €300,000 investment round, the company is now focused on international expansion and investing in technology to improve the marketplace.

In addition, Recovo works with Dcycle, a platform that provides knowledge to the user on the traceability of the materials on the platform and their environmental impact on unused resources –water, CO2, chemicals, waste – to help steer choices.

The company was founded in May 2021 by seven professionals formerly from companies including Bershka, L’Oréal, Luxottica Stradivarius and Tropicfeel.

“Our vision is to become a leader for circularity in fashion and in the coming months we will close agreements the many of the leading firms in fashion,” said co-founder and CMO Gonzalo Sáenz.
