Gel-Cumulus 23 is the latest sports shoe for runners in the Asics Europe series employing the company’s Gel technology, created from inert polymers to form a silicone enhanced in laboratories to increase overall cushioning and performance.

The strategic use of the technology reduces impact during heel strike at the rear of the shoe, while enhancing shock reduction during forward movement at the front. Diverse constructions and densities are based on multiple layers of softer foam.

Gel-Cumulus 23 combines Gel technology with a thicker layer of very light Flytefoam at the midsole, to keep the shoes responsive and light in weight, along with a seamless mesh upper.

3D Space Construction is another Asics technology that provides added comfort and support in specific areas underfoot, depending on the runner’s gender – ensuring Gel-Cumulus 23 is optimised for the running styles of both men and women.

“Gel-Cumulus 23 is the perfect everyday trainer for athletes of all levels,” said Shuhei Takemura, manager of the performance running development team, at Asics.

The running shoes are available for men and women in Asics retail, online stores and Intersport from May 1st.
