Following its acquisition three years ago, Zeta Polimeri, an Italian company headquartered in Buronzo, Piedmont, with over 30 years’ experience in the recovery of pre and post-consumer synthetic fibres and thermoplastic materials, has become a full member of the RadiciGroup and renamed Radici EcoMaterials.

It now occupies a unique position within the group as a result of its high value-added technologies for fibre sorting and recovery that will position the group at the forefront of recycling. Radici is now developing a virtuous production system that recovers fabrics, yarns and granules and processes them into new raw materials.

“This is truly a circular economy business,” says RadiciGroup president Angelo Radici. “We are collecting scraps and waste from our group plants, as well as from external companies, and determining the most appropriate recycling destinations for them. We already have some forty years of experience in recovering post-industrial waste from our processing activities and giving it a second life in engineering polymers.

“With the expertise of Radici EcoMaterials, we will now produce recovered materials of very high quality – nearly equal to virgin raw materials – ready to be used on our spinning lines. During the past few months, we have also invested in new technologies to further improve the quality of the products headed for our spinning lines – for both carpeting and textile applications – and to double the production capacity of the site.”

Radici EcoMaterials will handle all the preliminary recovery stages – the sorting, processing and pre-treatment of materials, including those used for the production of post-consumer yarns and engineering polymers.
