At the Innovation Forum of this week’s Milano Unica fair (July 9-11) a blue dress demonstrating Made in Italy yarn to garment traceability developed in a project led by RadiciGroup will be dispayed.

Tracers have been integrated into the nylon yarns of the dress fabric which  are detectable through a special scanner and allow the entire garment creation process to be mapped digitally via a QR code printed on the label.

This enables consumers to learn more about the production stages of the garment in order to make more conscious purchasing choices.

The dress was woven by Bergamo-based Sitip and further garments from the project will be exhibited at the fair by Tessitura Vignetta, another manufacturing partner.

RadiciGroup says that through the traceability of textile products, its goal is to fight counterfeiting and highlight products made in Europe, in line with the principles of the Digital Product Passport under development at the European Union.
