Acegreen Eco-Material Technology, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Acelon Chemicals and Fiber Corporation, has committed to purchasing the recycled pulp and polyester of Danville, Virginia headquartered Circ, marking a significant step in scaling the supply of sustainable fibres.

Acegreen has made a commitment to purchase pulp over five years from Circ’s first commercial-scale facility. The recycled pulp will be utilised in the production of pre-specified lyocell fibres, enabling brands to integrate high-quality recycled materials into their supply chains. Additionally, Acegreen’s parent company, Acelon, has made a commitment to procure Circ polyester over the same five-year period to support polyester filament production.

“Acegreen was one of the first to work with us, and they’ve played an important role in advancing our technology and bringing it to market,” said Peter Majeranowski, CEO of Circ. “The company has integrated our recycled pulp and polyester into its filament production and is helping demonstrate how next-gen materials can scale. The ability to move quickly and adapt is a great example of how great partners can accelerate real progress toward circularity.”

Acegreen has already achieved 2023 and 2024  Dark Green Shirt rankings on Canopy’s annual Hot Button report, validating its commitment to forest-friendly manmade cellulose fibre practices.

As global demand for recycled materials continues to outpace supply, strategic partnerships between innovators and fibre producers are crucial to scaling sustainable solutions. By committing to the purchase of Circ’s recycled pulp and polyester, Acegreen will ensure its customers have access to high-quality circular materials, supporting brands and manufacturers in reducing their environmental footprint and advancing their sustainability goals.

“This collaboration reflects our deep commitment to advancing sustainable fibre production and contributing to the future of a circular textile economy,” said Roger Chou, CEO of Acegreen. “By working alongside Circ, we are not only securing a steady supply of innovative recycled materials but also reinforcing our dedication to reducing waste and promoting resource efficiency in the textile industry.”
