High-end Italian fashion brand Twinset has selected the TrusTrace platform to help identify suppliers, support eco-design initiatives and eventually measure the environmental impact of each of its products.
With a three-year roadmap, results will be reached progressively by scaling-up to ultimately trace the brand’s full range of product categories and suppliers. Key objectives are to identify the material country of origin, manage supply-chain risk such as forced labour, and enable eco-design by assessing the environmental impact of each product.
To support the environmental impact initiative, TrusTrace has partnered with Peftrust, a leading life cycle assessment (LCA) provider.
This is helping Milan-based Twinset to prepare for incoming regulations such as Digital Product Passports (DDPs) which will be mandatory on textiles sold in Europe by 2030, as well as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which requires companies to report on their environmental and social impact.
“By partnering with TrusTrace, Twinset has deepened its commitment to tracing its supply chain in granular detail,” says TrusTrace CEO and co-founder Shameek Ghosh. “The brand can now better understand where and how its clothing is produced and track each product’s environmental impact – all within one platform.”
