Truetzschler Group has discontinued its Man-Made Fibers Division, ceasing the production of machines for BCF (bulk continuous filament) and IDY (industrial filament) yarns to focus on its core businesses of technologies for spinning, card clothing and nonwovens.

Truetzschler has signed an agreement with Oerlikon to ensure the service and supply of spare parts for the BCF and IDY machines already installed in the market.

The group formed Truetzschler Switzerland AG in 2012 through the acquisition of Winterthur-based SwissTex, a company which itself furthered the filament technology of Rieter Automatik.

At that time, there was said to be a very dynamic carpet yarn/BCF market, especially in China for polyamide 6 automotive floorcoverings.
