Report summary
2013 was another poor year for the international textile yarn machinery market, due primarily to a drop in shipments to the textile industry in China in the case of short staple spindles, long staple spindles, open-end rotors and double heater false-twist draw texturing spindles.
On the other hand, there were increases in shipments of some textile machinery to the textile industries in Egypt, India, Indonesia, Spain, Turkey, the USA, and Vietnam. Overall, shipments of long staple spindles, open-end rotors and double heater false-twist draw texturing machinery fell during 2013. Shipments of single heater false-twist draw texturing machinery remained minimal after there had been no shipments in 2012.
However, shipments of short staple spindles rose, and shipments of short staple spindles, open-end rotors and double heater false-twist draw texturing machinery remained higher than annual shipments over the ten years to 2013.
This 43-page report analyses trends in the international textile yarn machinery market, and includes a statistical appendix containing detailed information about installed capacities and shipments of spinning machines - by type, region and selected country.
