This report examines general trends and provides analyses of the international fabric machinery market. 2012 was a mixed year as shipments of weaving machinery and knitting machinery declined following two years of growth, while shipments of circular knitting machinery increased after declining in the previous year.

In weaving, shipments of shuttleless looms fell, and there were no shipments of shuttle looms for the second consecutive year. In the circular knitting sector, shipments of single jersey machinery and double jersey machinery increased.

But in the flat knitting sector, shipments of hand knitting and semi-automatic flat knitting machinery fell to their lowest level on record, and shipments of electronic flatbed knitting machinery declined following two years of growth.
