MycroCoatAndritz Küsters are underlining their worldwide reputation as pioneers and experts for deflection-controlled roll systems by presenting a high precision doctor blade at this year’s Techtextil in Frankfurt. The patented MycroCoat system makes coating or finishing of webs with a precision in the μ range (one thousandth of a millimetre) achievable.

Like the well known S-Roll and HyCon Roll systems by Andritz Küsters the fixed comma MycroCoat doctor blade has a deflection-control which facilitates an exactly defined precise nip against the optimally bedded counter roll. Continuous measuring of thickness and grammage allows for automatic application control in a closed loop under running production. This way, disturbance variables, such as changes in viscosity of the coating substance or rise in nip pressure at increasing speed can be compensated immediately. On request the MycroCoat system can also be provided with a temperature control.

“With the Andritz Küsters MycroCoat the quality of the coating has been substantially increased while simultaneously markedly reducing production costs. As the first installations in coating lines show, the return on investment for the high precision doctor blade is attained within the shortest of time thanks to a remarkable saving in coating substances”, the company says.

Another highlight from the Andritz Küsters programme for technical textiles is the teXcal s-roll calender with a maximum line force of 400 N/mm. Special applications, such as parachute silk and highly sophisticated outdoor clothing, require a defined low air permeability which, if at all, can be reached on standard calenders only in multiple passages. The teXcal s-roll with deflection-control and adapted surface technology effectuates best compaction results in just one passage.

In the area of wet finishing for nonwovens Andritz Küsters will  present, the neXkiss plus which links the basic principle of low add-on with a concept for the combination of different machine elements (among others two applicator rolls and swivel liquor troughs) for better production flexibility.

With the wetlaid technology ‘neXline wetlaid’, Andritz Küsters also leads the way in this market segment for manufacturers of niche products from special fibres like aramid, carbon, microglass and other high-tech fibres. The product portfolio ranges from individual retrofitting of an inclined wire part section to the design, implementation and commissioning of complete wetlaid lines, rounding off the Andritz Küsters offer for the technical textiles and nonwovens industry.
