Herno Globe, the new green label launched for SS20, which includes the brand’s eco-sustainable projects, will feature four new proposals for next winter. Two bombers and two men’s and two women’s down padded coats in Fast5Degradable fabric – a Herno exclusive 20-denier nylon – that boasts the use of Amni Soul Eco, a biodegradable polyamide 6.6 yarn.

The fabric’s name describes the benefits of the yarn it is made from. The result of research by the Solvay Group, in collaboration with Fulgar, a hallmark of Made in Italy excellence and leader in the innovative and eco-sustainable man-made fibre sector, Amni Soul Eco features revolutionary bio-degradation times. If correctly disposed of in special anaerobic tips, Amni Soul Eco biodegrades in about five years, says Fulgar.

“So the use of Fast5Degradable fabric with Amni Soul Eco means that the four new proposals from Herno Globe biodegrade rapidly and totally, a performance that is further boosted by choosing easily biodegradable down accessories and padding,” Fulgar adds.

By choosing Amni Soul Eco, Herno says it has found the right partner in in Fulgar, as Herno president Claudio Marenzi emphasises: “Fulgar’s green portfolio means that we at Herno have found the perfect partner, and this enables us to achieve a twofold objective – to take the value of sustainability to the highest possible level in the context of a circular economy and fulfil the demands of a rapidly growing market that is increasingly focused on the use of eco-compatible fabrics.”

Fulgar’s Marketing Manager Alan Garosi comments: “We’re extremely pleased and honoured that Herno has chosen us not only as a supplier of eco-sustainable products but also a partner company. It’s an important recognition of our now decade-long commitment to eco-sustainable research and development with the aim of creating an increasingly sustainable and ethical supply chain.”
