Weaving machinery leader Itema has opened a new subsidiary company, Tekstil Makineleri Servis Sanayi, in Istanbul.
The operation is aimed at enhancing the company’s local presence and will increase efficiency when serving a significantly growing Turkish customer base which represents a sizeable part of Itema’s global turnover.
“By leveraging the existing close partnerships of the strong Itema agent networks in Turkey and our dedicated resources on the ground, we can now better serve the exact needs of our Turkish customers,” said Ugo Ghilardi, Itema Group CEO.
The new organisation in Turkey will build on the know-how and experience of Itema partners Bilol Tekstil and A. Modiano.
“We have always felt part of Itema, and now we are proud to be part of the Itema staff in all respects,” said Bilol’s Pamir Özaltan, who is now Itema Turkey general manager.
“There will be no change, except for the better,” added Vedat Anjel of A. Modiano. “We are glad to be part of this strategic move that demonstrates the importance of our market for Itema.”
With production sites in Italy, China and Switzerland, Itema is adding the new branch in Turkey to existing commercial and service subsidiaries in India, USA, Japan, Dubai and Hong Kong.
